My name is Debi Wind. I am single and live in Louisville,
KY. I discovered stamping ten years ago and found it gives
me the opportunity to express my artistic and creative
side. Since I no longer am able to work outside the home, I
have the opportunity to use my time for my first love…rubber
stamping and my other hobbies, taking care of my little dog,
and doing volunteer work with children.
I have been creating with rubber stamps for over ten
years. Currently I design for Ink Stamps, I Brake For
Stamps, Stamp & Scrap Canada, and Sun Spirit Studios. Each
company has different styles of stamps which I find quite
challenging. I design projects using the company's stamps,
submit designs for newsletter, and post to blogs write ups
about different techniques. Each company has a
different schedule for submissions but generally the
requirements are every other month or every quarter.
I wrote and designed for SSReflections Ezine,
http://www.ssreflections.com
from July 2004 to August 2007. Each month I wrote articles
on various aspects of stamping and my articles were geared
toward beginning stamping. Many of the article covered
background techniques, ATCs, card sketches, tags, etc. and
can be found in the archives. Part of the requirements of
being a designer was to code my articles and samples into
html documents and send them to the editor. I belonged to
several Yahoo groups (Team, Leader, Promotions, General
groups) related to being a member of the writing staff and
participate on a daily basis. I was part of the management
staff and participated in making managerial decisions for
the zine.
Prior to the current design teams I designed for Time To
Stamp September 2004 to December 2007, Raindrop Art Stamps
January 2005 to June 2007 (company closed), Stampers Mall
March 2004 to December 2005 and Hearts In Touch September
2004 to July 2006. These companies led to my gaining
valuable design experience and newsletter writing which I
utilize even today. I have been
published in Stampers Sampler, Take Ten, and Rubber Stamp
Madness. I have, also, been published on many stamping
websites.
Over the years I have learned so many techniques. I believe
my favorite techniques to be Polished Stone, Heated Pearls,
Baby Wipe
technique, working with the brayer, and creating a variety
of backgrounds. I enjoy working with many mediums such as
ink, acrylic paint, Lumiere, Pearl Ex, Twinkling H2O's,
Color Mists, etc. My favorite is creating vintage looking
projects.
I have very valuable experience to offer in the areas of
writing, designing, communications, and being part of a
team. I, also, have experience in working with many art
mediums, meeting submission deadlines, coding documents into
html, communicating with editors, and working on special
projects. I have experience in scanning projects, resizing
for publications, utilizing a digital camera for
photographing projects, and send all via email to an editor
or company owner. I have extensive experience in working
with the computer and being a part of Yahoo groups as well
as message boards.
